India’s Got Latent Controversy: Apoorva Mukhija Surprised by Samay Raina’s Song Choice for Her Picture
Amid the ongoing controversy around India’s Got Latent, comedian Samay Raina recently made a quiet return to social media and reunited with fellow content creator Apoorva Mukhija, also known as The Rebel Kid. What caught everyone’s attention, though, was the song Samay chose when he posted a photo of Apoorva on his Instagram story—leaving her totally surprised!
A few months ago, Samay, Apoorva, Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and others got into legal trouble because of controversial comments made on the show India’s Got Latent. Samay had gone off social media since February, but he recently came back and met up with Apoorva for what looked like a casual dinner.
He posted a candid photo of Apoorva on his Instagram story. In the picture, she is smiling and raising a toast, possibly with Samay. What made the post stand out was the background song—Samay picked Sensations by King Magneto, which took Apoorva by surprise. She found it funny and reshared the story on her own Instagram, clearly amused by his song choice.

The controversy around India’s Got Latent started when Ranveer Allahbadia made a controversial statement about parenting and sx, which led to public backlash and legal trouble. Apoorva also faced heat for a remark about vginas, which led to FIRs being filed against her and even police summons.
Samay, who was the host of the show, was criticized for a joke he made about people with disabilities. Several other creators who appeared on the show also faced similar issues. The controversy began in February 2025.
In March, both Apoorva and Ranveer returned to work despite the legal matters. Samay has also now resumed work and social media. Meanwhile, the episodes of India’s Got Latent were removed from YouTube due to the growing backlash.
