Ayesha Singh Reveals Why She Chose Mannat Over Other Offers and Talks About Her Bond with Co-Stars
Popular TV actress Ayesha Singh is making a comeback with her new show Mannat: Har Khushi Paane Ki. The show stars Ayesha as Mannat, Mona Vasu as Aishwarya, and Adnan Khan as Vikrant. It focuses on a complicated relationship between a mother and daughter who are unaware of their true connection.
In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Ayesha opened up about why she chose this role, her preparations, and her off-screen bond with her co-stars.
Why Did You Say Yes to Mannat?
Ayesha shared that the story and her character deeply moved her. “When I went to Mukta Ma’am’s house for the narration, there was a moment when I had tears in my eyes. That hadn’t happened to me in the last 6-8 months. It was at that moment I knew I had to play Mannat,” she said.
Did You Learn Any Special Skills for This Role?
To prepare for her role, Ayesha picked up culinary skills. “I practiced chopping vegetables at home because I wanted the scenes to look real. I even learned how to use a proper kitchen knife after realizing the ones on set were much bigger than what I was used to,” she laughed.
She also studied the posture, habits, and discipline of being in the kitchen. “I made notes in a diary about what I learned from online videos, like how to stand, move, and work in a kitchen. I keep referring to it to improve my performance,” Ayesha added.
How Is Your Bond with Mona Vasu and Adnan Khan Off-Screen?
Ayesha described her off-screen relationships with her co-stars as sweet. “It’s still new, so we’re getting to know each other,” she said.
She admires Mona for her love of animals. “Mona shelters dogs, and even though I’m a bit scared of them, she’s been kind and shares wonderful stories about them,” Ayesha said.
Talking about Adnan, she shared, “We had a flight together for outdoor shoots, and I made some cute videos of him. He’s a quiet person, while I try to stay energetic on set to match Mannat’s personality. It’s fun working with him.”
What Traits Do You Share with Mannat?
Ayesha feels she and Mannat are alike in how they express emotions. “Mannat can be happy one moment and sad the next. I’m the same. I laugh and joke a lot, and that’s something we share,” she revealed.
Were You Offered Other Shows Before Mannat?
Ayesha confirmed she had received many offers, including narrations for new shows and even reality shows like Bigg Boss 18. “Nothing clicked for me because I wanted to focus on acting and not reality shows. When I heard Mannat’s story, I got teary-eyed and knew this was the one. I followed my gut feeling,” she said.
With her dedication and excitement for the role, fans are eagerly awaiting Ayesha’s performance in Mannat.
