EXCLUSIVE: Ayushmann Khurrana to Lead a Pure Comedy Film for Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra
After wrapping up his untitled comedy film, Ayushmann Khurrana is now all set to team up with Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra for a new comic entertainer. Ayushmann is currently busy with several big projects — after the success of Dream Girl 2, he’s set to appear in Thama, directed by Aditya Satpodar, as a Diwali release. This film is a part of Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe. Ayushmann is also starring in a spy comedy alongside Sara Ali Khan, which is expected to release in 2026.
Ayushmann to lead a quirky family comedy with Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra
Sources close to the project say Ayushmann Khurrana has signed up for a quirky family comedy with Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra — the team previously came together for Pati Patni Aur Woh. “It’s a complete comic entertainer for Ayushmann. The actor was looking forward to choosing a film in this genre, and this script offers a perfect blend of situational humor with a dash of slapstick comedy,” a source revealed.
Casting for the film has already started and will include many well-known actors, alongside a strong team of leading ladies. “The aim is to start shooting this film in September 2025 and wrap up in a single schedule. The name of the director and the title are still kept under wraps, but the makers have finalized the script and quietly started casting for the project. A successful comedy filmmaker is expected to come on board soon,” the source added.
Ayushmann moves on to Sooraj Barjatya’s family dramedy afterwards
After finishing this comic film, Ayushmann will team up with Sooraj Barjatya for a family dramedy. “The Sooraj Barjatya film is set to start in November. Ayushmann is looking forward to following up a comic entertainer with a family film. Playing Prem on the big screen is a dream come true for him. He’s kept aside a large number of dates for this project with Rajshri.”
