Baalveer 5 EXCLUSIVE: Dev Joshi Talks About Wife Aarti’s Reaction to the New Season & Why His Space Mission Got Canceled
Dev Joshi, who plays the lead in the popular fantasy show Baalveer, is back with its fifth season. The show is now available to stream online. This is Dev’s first project after marrying his longtime girlfriend Aarti on February 25, 2025.
In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Dev opened up about his wife’s reaction to Baalveer 5 and also shared why his space journey through the DearMoon project was canceled.

Talking about the new season, Dev said that fans and people on social media are always excited about Baalveer. He shared, “Season 5 is very different from the previous ones. My character will now face battles within himself.”
Aarti’s Reaction to the Show
When asked how his wife Aarti reacted to the new season, Dev smiled and said, “She’s very happy. Her whole family is happy. They’ve been fans of Baalveer since 2012 and have watched every episode. I feel blessed to have her. She has always supported me. As a life partner, she’s my biggest cheerleader. She’s excited for Season 5 and is eagerly waiting for the new episodes.”
Offers from Other Projects
Dev was also asked if he got any offers from daily soaps. He replied, “Yes, I got offers for many projects — not just daily soaps but also web shows, Bollywood movies, and Gujarati films.”
But he explained why he turned them down: “As an actor, I want to play characters that are positive and inspiring. My character Baalveer motivates people to live good lives. So I try to choose roles like that.”
Why the DearMoon Space Project Got Canceled
Dev Joshi, who is 24 years old, was chosen as the youngest and the only Indian crew member for the DearMoon space mission — a one-of-a-kind journey around the moon. Sadly, the mission was canceled in 2024 because the rocket (SpaceX Starship) was not ready.
Talking about this, Dev said, “It was a big and unique project. The idea of sending artists from different countries into space was amazing. It’s disappointing that it got canceled. But building a rocket like that takes time.”
He added, “The project is now canceled indefinitely, but I’m hopeful. Once the rocket is ready, we’ll think about it again. All our meetings and planning will still be useful someday.”
With a smile, he said, “Till then, I’ll keep going to space as Baalveer!”
