Babil Khan Opens Up About Following Irrfan Khan’s Life Lessons

Babil Khan Says He’s Unsure Where His Father Irfan Khan’s Teachings Will Take Him: ‘I Don’t Want to Plan Everything’

Babil Khan, son of the late actor Irrfan Khan, is slowly making his name in the world of acting. Carrying his father’s legacy, Babil has shown he has inherited both talent and depth. However, in a recent interview, he admitted that he’s not sure where his father’s life lessons will lead him. He said, “I wouldn’t like to plan anything, but I would like to explore what happens with that.”

Speaking to Filmfare, Babil shared that he thinks he looks a lot like his father. He said he got his father Irrfan’s eyes and his mother Sutapa Sikdar’s eye bags.

He also spoke fondly about his mother, calling her a “warrior,” a “queen,” and even comparing her to a tiger. Babil said he has inherited his father’s way of looking at life, as well as the knowledge that came from his father’s many experiences.

Even though he’s not sure where these lessons will take him, Babil said he wants to follow the path naturally without making strict plans.

In another interview with The Lallantop, Babil talked about how everything changed after his father passed away. Suddenly, all eyes were on him, and he wasn’t ready for that attention.

He recalled one emotional moment: when Irrfan Khan’s body was being taken from the hospital to the funeral, many people stood in the streets, crying and trying to catch one last glimpse of the actor—this happened even during the COVID-19 pandemic. That moment stayed with him, and he felt a deep sense of responsibility to live up to that love and respect.

Babil also said that when he shared his memories of his father publicly, some people accused him of using his father’s death to promote his own career.

He cleared the air, saying that if he was doing that, he wouldn’t still be going to auditions like everyone else.

Babil made his acting debut in Qala (2022), directed by Anvitaa Dutt, which was released on Netflix India. He was also seen in the series The Railway Men.
