Struggles with Dyslexia
In an interview with Telly Talk, Karan revealed that he was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was a child. He shared how his family always encouraged him and his sister to focus on their individual strengths. While his sister excelled in academics, Karan struggled to keep up.
“I was dyslexic, but it wasn’t diagnosed until much later,” Karan said. He admitted that he barely passed his exams as a child. However, things took a surprising turn before his 10th standard board exams.
During summer break, Karan’s mother started reading books to him. To her surprise, Karan could answer all the questions correctly. Realizing that he had trouble reading but not understanding, she arranged for him to get extra help in Maths and Accounts.
Karan worked hard, and when the results came out, he shocked everyone by scoring 72% in his 10th standard exams. “It was a big surprise at home. My mom realized my issue was with reading, not grasping concepts,” he explained.
Finding Clarity Through Taare Zameen Par
Karan also shared how watching Aamir Khan’s movie Taare Zameen Par later in life helped him and his mom understand dyslexia better. The film brought clarity about his condition, and both became emotional while watching it.
Karan’s Bigg Boss Journey
Karan entered the Bigg Boss 18 house right after winning Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. His sharp game strategies, witty personality, and ability to entertain won the hearts of viewers. His efforts paid off as he defeated two strong contenders, Vivian Dsena and Rajat Dalal, to win the title.
