Bigg Boss 2 Winner Ashutosh Kaushik Reveals MTV Wanted 30% of His Prize Money
Ashutosh Kaushik, the winner of Bigg Boss 2 and Roadies 5, recently shared that MTV demanded 30% of his prize money from Bigg Boss. He explained that this created problems in his relationship with the channel.
What Happened with MTV
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ashutosh revealed that he had a contract with MTV stating that for two years after winning Roadies, he had to pay them 30% of his earnings. He mentioned that he didn’t have anyone to help him with his projects. He said, “I won Rs 1 crore for Bigg Boss. MTV wanted Rs 30 lakh from that, claiming I owed them. The contract said I had to pay MTV 30% of any earnings for two years. I argued that the Rs 1 crore was a gift, not a salary.”
His Earnings and Challenges
Ashutosh also mentioned that he was the lowest-paid contestant in his season, earning only Rs 25 lakhs per week. Since he had no one to negotiate for him, he signed the contract without knowing the full details. After his argument with MTV, they agreed to hire him as a VJ, promising him a monthly salary of Rs 1.5 lakh. However, he ended up only receiving monthly cheques without the VJ role.
Prize Money from Roadies
Ashutosh shared that he won Rs 2.5 lakhs and a bike as his prize from Roadies. However, he had to pay taxes on the bike before he could take it from the showroom.
Relationship with Raghu Ram
In the same interview, Ashutosh reflected on his poor relationship with Raghu Ram, calling him fake.
