In Kavyanjali, Amrita Singh portrayed Nitya Nanda, a manipulative mother-in-law who made life tough for her daughter-in-law, Anjali Nanda. Anjali often faced struggles, only to realize later that her mother-in-law was the root of her problems.
In an interview with IANS while working on Kavyanjali, Amrita talked about the challenges of the show’s demanding schedule, saying, “The hours are so stretched out, sometimes I feel overworked. We don’t have a bank of episodes for Kavyanjali, so we’re trying to build that up, which means a lot more work. Luckily, I’ve had great help with the kids—my grandmother looks after them, and I have reliable maids and servants who’ve been with me since before they were born. Thankfully, I don’t have stress on that front.”
Amrita joined Kavyanjali in 2005, shortly after her divorce from Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, though she chose not to discuss her personal life publicly. She emphasized that the truth about her divorce should remain private and added that she didn’t rely on anyone for help with her children.
“I need to work to support myself and my kids,” she stated firmly.
Amrita Singh has been part of several hit films, including 2 States, Hindi Medium, Sooryavanshi, Chameli Ki Shaadi, Mard, Ilaka, and Shootout at Lokhandwala, among others.
