CID returns to TV after 6 years; First look featuring Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and Aditya Srivastava makes fans nostalgic
The popular TV show CID is making a comeback! After being off-air for six years, this long-running crime series is returning with its original cast. Fans are thrilled as the makers have released the first look of the new season, featuring Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and Aditya Srivastava.
On October 24, Sony TV shared the teaser on Instagram. It begins with a close-up of Dayanand Shetty’s character, Daya, showing blood dripping from his forehead. The show’s famous theme music plays in the background. Then, we see Shivaji Satam, who plays ACP Pradyuman, stepping out of a car with an umbrella. The teaser ends with a ticking time bomb sound and a close-up of Aditya Srivastava’s character, Abhijeet.
The teaser also reveals that the full promo will be released on October 26, with the caption, “Mark your calendars – the explosive promo drops on October 26!”
Fans quickly expressed their excitement in the comments. Many felt nostalgic, recalling how they used to watch CID during their childhood. One user wrote, “CID is back. My childhood is back!” Another commented, “I can’t believe this is happening.” Yet another fan said, “My childhood has returned. Thank you, Sony!”
Actors Ansha Sayed and Shraddha Musale, who were part of the original cast, also shared their excitement by commenting “Finally” and “Looks deadly.”
For those who don’t know, CID ended on October 27, 2018, after running for 20 years on Sony TV, making it one of India’s longest-running TV shows. Along with the main cast, the show also starred the late Dinesh Phadnis as Inspector Fredricks, Narendra Gupta as Dr. Salunkhe, Hrishikesh Pandey as Sr. Inspector Sachin, Ansha Sayed as Inspector Purvi, Vivek Mashru as Sub-Inspector Vivek, and Shraddha Musale as Dr. Tarika.
