CID’s Dayanand Shetty on Show’s Return: “We Were Planning a Film”

Dayanand Shetty Hopes for CID Comeback: Talks About Manifesting and Planning a Film

CID fans were heartbroken when the iconic crime show went off-air in 2018. However, it wasn’t just the audience who wished for its return—so did the cast, including Dayanand Shetty, Shivaji Satam, and Aditya Srivastav. In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Dayanand shared how the team coped after the show ended and their efforts to bring something new for fans.

Trying to Move Forward

Dayanand revealed the cast was left in confusion when CID ended. He shared:
“We tried and started something. Then, we did a crime show—not with the same team but with some changes. Unfortunately, that also got shut down before COVID. After that, we were trying to figure out what to do. If CID couldn’t return as a show, we thought of doing something else. We even planned a film. Our manifestation was ongoing, and the audience was also showing the same enthusiasm.”

Love From Fans

The actor expressed gratitude for the fans who kept their hopes alive, wanting to see every character back on screen. He humorously said:
“Hard faces, soft hearts—maybe that’s why people feel connected to us through the camera.”

A Legendary Show

For those unfamiliar, CID is one of India’s longest-running television shows. It premiered in 1998 and achieved a historic milestone of 1500 episodes. After years of waiting, the second season finally started airing on December 21, 2024.

Fans now eagerly look forward to more thrilling cases and their favorite characters reuniting on screen.
