CID Exclusive: Dayanand Shetty Reacts to Daya and Abhijeet’s Bond Being Compared to Jai-Veeru
The popular TV show CID is back with new episodes, and fans are thrilled to see their favorite characters, Daya, Abhijeet, and ACP Pradyuman, played by Dayanand Shetty, Aditya Srivastav, and Shivaji Satam, respectively. Along with intense storylines, the iconic friendship between Daya and Abhijeet is winning hearts again. In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Dayanand Shetty shared his thoughts on fans comparing their bond to the legendary friendship of Jai and Veeru from Sholay.
Dayanand, who plays Senior Inspector Daya, said,
“Jai-Veeru ka jo dosti hai, wo sabke liye friendship ka zenith hai. We take it as a compliment when people compare our friendship to Jai-Veeru. Wo naturally hota hai, friendship is always natural.”
(Jai and Veeru’s friendship is the peak of all friendships. It’s a compliment for us. Friendship is always something that forms naturally.)
A Strong Bond On and Off Screen
Talking about the team’s bond, Dayanand shared,
“Humara ensemble 21 saal se saath hai, aur phir season 2 mein bhi wahi cast aa gayi. Kahin na kahin ye reflect karta hai ki artists ke beech bond hai. Normally, serials mein 6 mahine baad koi chala jata hai internal issues ki wajah se, par yaha aisa kabhi nahi hota.”
(Our cast has been together for 21 years, and the same team has come back for season 2. This shows the strong bond between us. Usually, in serials, someone leaves after 6 months because of internal issues, but that doesn’t happen here.)
Aditya Srivastav, who plays Senior Inspector Abhijeet, also expressed his happiness about being part of the team. He said,
“We always say we are a family. Daya has a heart of gold—he takes care of everything, from ordering lunch to worrying about us. Satam Sir is like an elder brother to us. I feel lucky to be part of this gang.”
Shivaji Satam, who plays ACP Pradyuman, added,
“There’s no ego among us. We truly are a family.”
Dayanand also mentioned how Satam Sir is the “head of the house,” keeping everyone united.
