EXCLUSIVE: Aditya Chopra and Shridhar Raghavan Finalize Dhoom 4 Script; Filming Starts April 2026
Dhoom is one of the most iconic film series in Indian cinema, and after a long wait, Dhoom 4 is finally happening. Aditya Chopra, who created and built the franchise, is now working with writer Shridhar Raghavan to lock the script for the fourth film. The movie is expected to start filming in April 2026.
Ranbir Kapoor to Lead Dhoom 4
According to sources, Ranbir Kapoor will play the lead in Dhoom 4. The story and his character are being shaped around his unique personality and style. Ranbir is said to be very excited to be part of this high-speed heist thriller, which will once again feature thrilling action and bikes, just like the earlier Dhoom films.
“Aditya Chopra and Shridhar Raghavan are working closely on the script. They’re making sure the story lives up to the hype that Dhoom 4 already has,” a source revealed. “The movie will be very different from the YRF Spy Universe. It will have a global action feel, both in visuals and storytelling.”
Ayan Mukerji Likely to Direct
Director Ayan Mukerji, known for Brahmastra, is the top choice to direct Dhoom 4. He is expected to begin pre-production work after his next film, War 2, which releases on Independence Day 2025. If everything goes as planned, Dhoom 4 will hit theaters in 2027, with filming wrapped up by the end of 2026.
What’s Next for Ranbir Kapoor?
Ranbir is currently busy shooting Love and War with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. After that, he will complete Ramayana 2. Once both projects are done, he’ll start working on Dhoom 4 in summer 2026.
Ranbir also has two more big projects coming up—Brahmastra 2 and Animal Park.
