EXCLUSIVE: Diljit Dosanjh to Begin Shooting Border 2 with Sunny Deol in June, Film to Wrap by August
The much-awaited war film Border 2 is moving ahead at full speed. Featuring a star-studded cast of Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, the movie is set to hit theatres during the Republic Day 2026 weekend. Now, Pinkvilla has learned that Diljit Dosanjh will begin filming his scenes from June 10.
Diljit Joins the Shoot in June
A source close to the film shared, “Diljit plays a very emotional and important role in Border 2, which is based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. He will start filming from June 10 and will shoot his first scenes with Sunny Deol.”
Later, in the second phase of his shoot, Diljit will film scenes with Varun Dhawan, starting in July.
Strong Role with Powerful Moments
The source added, “Diljit shares powerful scenes with Sunny, Varun, and Ahan. His character also comes with a strong backstory.” Director Anurag Singh plans to finish shooting the entire film by August 10.
“Sunny Deol is expected to wrap up most of his scenes by the end of June, while Diljit and Varun will finish their parts by August 2025,” the source said.
What to Expect from Border 2
Border 2 is the sequel to the iconic 1997 film Border, and it promises to be even bigger. Set during the India-Pakistan war of 1971, the film aims to be one of the largest war films in Indian cinema history.
The makers are also bringing back the legendary song “Sandese Aate Hain,” which will be reimagined and sung by Sonu Nigam and Arijit Singh.
