Dipika Kakar Diagnosed with Stage 2 Liver Cancer
Actress Dipika Kakar has shared a serious update about her health. She revealed that she has been diagnosed with Stage 2 liver cancer.
Earlier, on May 16, Dipika’s husband Shoaib Ibrahim informed fans that doctors had found a tennis ball-sized tumor in her left liver. At that time, she was going through a few medical tests to find out whether the tumor was cancerous or not. Sadly, the latest test results confirmed that the tumor is cancerous.
Dipika Shares Her Health Update on Instagram
Dipika posted a heartfelt note on her Instagram account to update everyone. She wrote:
“As you all know, the last few weeks have been very difficult for us. I went to the hospital because of pain in the upper part of my stomach. That’s when we found out about a tennis ball-sized tumor in my liver. Now, after tests, we’ve come to know that the tumor is Stage 2 Malignant (Cancerous). This is one of the toughest times we’ve faced.”
Despite the bad news, Dipika said she is trying to stay strong and positive. She added:
“With my whole family beside me and all the love and prayers I’m getting from you, I believe I will get through this too, InshaAllah. Please keep me in your prayers. Lots of love, Dipika.”
She also asked her fans in the caption to “Keep Me In Your Prayers.”
What Happened Before the Diagnosis
Not long ago, Dipika had to be hospitalized after she developed a high fever of 103.9°F. On May 21, she underwent a PET scan, and on May 23, Shoaib shared that she had been discharged and her fever was under control.
Earlier this week, Dipika was expected to go through tumor removal surgery, but she hasn’t given any new update about it yet.
How the Tumor Was Discovered
In their recent vlog, Dipika and Shoaib shared more about how they found the tumor. Dipika had been having severe stomach pain. Shoaib explained that she had a gallbladder stone, which caused the pain. During a sonography for the gallbladder issue, doctors found the tumor in her liver.
Dipika, best known for her role in Sasural Simar Ka, is now focusing on her recovery, surrounded by the love of her family and fans. Everyone is hoping and praying for her speedy recovery.
