What Kanyadaan was all about

Kanyadaan was a family drama that aired on Sony TV from 1999 to 2000. It was produced by Ektaa Kapoor and featured Jayati Bhatia, Sudhanshu Pandey, Kirron Kher, and Poonam Narula in key roles.

The story focused on Raksha (played by Kirron Kher), who lives a peaceful life with her daughter Kavita. Kavita is at the age to get married. Her first love fails, but she later finds true love in Karan, and they plan to get engaged.

But just before the engagement, Raksha’s other daughter, Sakshi, suddenly appears. Sakshi is Raksha’s illegitimate child, which leads to many twists in the family. The show explores how relationships change between the mother and daughters, and between the two stepsisters. It also shows the struggles faced by a man who cannot accept his wife’s past, and how this affects everyone involved.
