Dussehra 2024 EXCLUSIVE: Actor Arjit Taneja Shares a Sweet Childhood Memory of Celebrating the Festival
Arjit Taneja, best known for his role in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye, recently shared some heartwarming memories of celebrating Dussehra during his childhood. He also talked about his plans for celebrating the festival this year.
Today, on October 12, people across the country are celebrating Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami. This festival marks the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana. To celebrate, people gather in large crowds to watch Ravana’s effigy burn, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. Popular actor Arjit Taneja shared his thoughts on celebrating Dussehra this year and looked back on his childhood celebrations of the festival.
In a chat with Pinkvilla, Arjit took a trip down memory lane and fondly recalled how he used to celebrate Dussehra as a child in Delhi. He said, “Dussehra always reminds me of my childhood in Delhi. I used to go with my family to watch the big Ram Leela shows and the burning of Ravana’s effigy. The atmosphere was always filled with lights, excitement, and cheers.”
Speaking about his plans for this year’s celebration, Arjit added, “This year, I’ll be spending Dussehra with my friends over dinner. While it’s different from how I celebrated it as a kid, the core message of good winning over evil remains the same. It’s always a special time to reflect, celebrate, and be thankful.”

He’s also participated in popular reality shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi 13, hosted by Rohit Shetty, and MTV Splitsvilla 6.
Currently, Arjit is playing the lead role in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye, alongside actress Sriti Jha. He plays Virat, while Sriti portrays Amruta. Recently, Pratiksha Honmukhe from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai joined the show as Virat’s ex-girlfriend.
Apart from TV, Arjit has appeared in two well-known Bollywood movies: Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Mr. & Mrs. Mahi. Thanks to his good looks and strong fan base, he continues to be one of the most loved actors in the industry.
