Ektaa Kapoor and her mother, Shobha Kapoor, are facing legal trouble after a case was filed against their company, Balaji Telefilms. The case is connected to the show Gandi Baat Season 6, produced by Ektaa.
According to reports from ANI, the case was registered under the POCSO Act due to inappropriate scenes in the show involving minor girls. The show was streaming on ALT Balaji, which is run by Ektaa and Shobha Kapoor. The complaint claims that Gandi Baat aired between February and April 2021 and featured content that was not suitable for minors. Although the episode in question has been removed from the platform, the legal case remains.
The case has been filed at the MHB police station in Mumbai, and Ektaa and Shobha Kapoor are facing charges under section 295-A of the IPC, the IT Act, and sections 13 and 15 of the POCSO Act.
For those unfamiliar, the POCSO Act, passed in 2012, is designed to protect children from sexual abuse, harassment, and exploitation. It enforces strict penalties for anyone involved in crimes against minors.
In other news, Ektaa Kapoor’s latest film, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 (LSD 2), was released on April 19, 2024. Unfortunately, the movie did not perform well at the box office. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the film starred Paritosh Tiwari, Bonita Rajpurohit, Abhinav Singh, and Swaroopa Ghosh.
