EXCLUSIVE: Nia Sharma’s Inspiring Journey from Struggle to Stardom

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Nia Sharma Remembers Losing Her Father at 14 and Doing Odd Jobs to Survive

In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, actress Nia Sharma opened up about her difficult journey after losing her father at 14, and how she had to do odd jobs to support her family.

Nia, who is now a popular figure in the entertainment industry and known for her unique fashion sense, shared how her life changed after her father’s passing. She talked about the struggles she faced before becoming an actress.

Nia explained that before she entered the entertainment world, she didn’t even know how to do makeup and was very shy and unsure about her future. She recalled sleepless nights spent worrying about what her life would become. Her teenage years were tough because, after her father’s death, everything in her life changed drastically.

She said, “My brother was trying his best to support us. Every night, I kept thinking that I needed to stand on my own feet. I wanted to get a job so I wouldn’t be a burden to my family. I didn’t have big dreams then.” Nia also revealed that she originally wanted to be a journalist, which is why she studied journalism.

In the interview, Nia shared that during her college years, she didn’t go to parties but stayed focused on her studies. She mentioned, “I thought a job with a salary of Rs 20,000 or Rs 25,000 was what I would get, but life had other plans.”

Talking about her early career days, Nia said there was no one to guide her. It was just her, her mother, and her brother. She admitted she used to get frustrated because her mom would worry whenever she came home late in Delhi, but now she understands why her mother was so protective, as she was raising them alone.

Nia’s mother always encouraged her to aim for a good life. Nia shared that she took up MC (Master of Ceremonies) jobs, which involved hosting events, just because she wanted to talk and interact with people. She said, “I used to earn Rs 2,500 for two hours of work. I did these kinds of odd jobs, internships, not knowing where they would lead me. I kept doing them blindly.”

In the same interview, Nia also talked about her journey in the industry, her family, why she didn’t participate in Bigg Boss 18, and the challenges she faced in friendships. She also discussed her shows, including Ek Hazaron Main Meri Behna Hai, Laughter Chefs, and Suhagan Chudail.
