Meet the Actor Who Wanted to Charge Only Re 1 to Act with Shah Rukh Khan, Starred with Salman Khan, and Now Appears in Pakistani Show Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum with Hania Aamir
Today, we’re talking about Javed Sheikh, a well-known Pakistani actor who has shared the screen with Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Akshay Kumar. Now, he’s impressing audiences in Pakistan with his role in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. Can you guess who he is?
Javed Sheikh, originally from Rawalpindi, has built a strong name not only in Pakistan but also in Bollywood. His impressive career includes working with some of the biggest names in Indian cinema. He appeared in Om Shanti Om, playing the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s father. Remarkably, Javed once shared that he wanted to charge only Re 1 for this role.
In an interview with Gloss Etc, Javed explained that being part of a Shah Rukh Khan film directed by Farah Khan meant more to him than money. When the manager approached him to discuss his fee, Javed said, “I won’t take any money. It’s an honor to play Shah Rukh’s father in his biggest film. India has so many actors, yet Shah Rukh and Farah Khan chose me. That’s an honor in itself. So, because of them, I would only take one rupee. I’m not joking.”
Besides Om Shanti Om, Javed has acted in other Bollywood films, like Jaan-E-Man and Yuvvraaj, where he starred alongside Salman Khan. He has also been in movies like Namastey London, Apne, Tamasha, and My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves.
Currently, Javed Sheikh can be seen in the Pakistani drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, where he plays Fahad Mustafa’s father. The show also stars popular actress Hania Aamir in the lead role.
Javed Sheikh’s work across borders has made him a respected figure in both Pakistani and Indian entertainment industries.
