This year, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on September 7. The festival includes placing clay idols of Ganesha, chanting prayers, and fasting. Sweets like modak, which are believed to be Ganesha’s favorite, are also shared. The festival ends on the tenth day with a procession where the idol is immersed in water, a ritual called visarjana.
