On the special occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti 2024, actor Arjit Taneja shared some heartwarming memories of celebrating the festival and visiting the Gurudwara with his family. Known for his role as Virat in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye opposite Sriti Jha, Arjit reflected on how these moments shaped his values.
In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Arjit said, “While growing up, we would visit the Gurudwara as a family every Guru Nanak Jayanti. We listened to kirtan and participated in seva, which taught me humility and compassion at a young age. I have beautiful memories of sitting with my parents and grandparents, hearing stories about Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings on kindness, equality, and service.”
He added, “Those moments have stayed close to my heart and shaped my values. Even now, I try my best to visit the Gurudwara here in Mumbai and perform seva on this day. I wish everyone a very happy and blessed Guru Nanak Jayanti. I hope you celebrate it with your loved ones.”
Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrates the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru. This year marks his 555th birth anniversary. Known as Gurpurab, this sacred day is celebrated with prayer services, community gatherings, and singing hymns to honor the founder of Sikhism.
