Hina Khan Shares Why She Couldn’t Keep Her Scalp Open During Her Cancer Battle
Hina Khan, one of the most loved actresses in the entertainment industry, has been bravely fighting stage three breast cancer. She announced her diagnosis last year, and since then, she has faced many challenges in her journey. In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, Hina opened up about a condition that prevented her from exposing her scalp, as it triggered severe migraines.
During the interview, Hina shared an experience where she advised a worker at her house to quit gutka (chewing tobacco). She removed her cap to show him the effects of cancer, hoping it would make him realize the dangers of unhealthy habits. She revealed, “Throughout my journey, I couldn’t expose my scalp because I used to get migraines. And these migraines didn’t last for just 1-2 hours. If I removed my cap or wig, within 15-20 minutes, the migraine would start and continue for days.”
She also spoke about how cancer treatment caused skin pigmentation and scars, which she still has. “Because of this, I had to keep myself covered all the time. That’s why there were no pictures of me without a cap,” she explained.

Hina also recalled how she had planned to proudly flaunt her bald head, but her health didn’t allow it. She shared, “I developed a condition where I couldn’t keep my scalp open even for 10 minutes. During chemotherapy, I used to sleep under three quilts, wearing gloves, a cap, and socks. I would shiver and feel extremely cold, which made it impossible to keep my head uncovered.”
She admitted that even though she had wanted to show her bald head, she had to change her decision because of her condition.
Hina Khan was last seen as a guest on Bigg Boss Season 18. Before that, she appeared in Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 as a challenger.
