Indian Idol 15: After Contestant Asks Abhijeet Bhattacharya About His Argument with Neha Kakkar, He Makes a Promise
Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who had previously criticized singers performing at weddings, changed his stance on Indian Idol 15 and made a surprising promise to a contestant.
Earlier, Abhijeet’s comments about wedding performances sparked a controversy, especially after he criticized singers who perform at weddings. However, during the New Year’s special episode of Indian Idol 15, Abhijeet took a U-turn and promised a contestant that he would sing at her wedding.
The special episode featured music legends like Lalit Pandit, Sadhna Sargam, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, his wife Sumati Bhattacharya, and actress Preeti Jhangiani. In one segment, a contestant named Manasi asked Abhijeet about his earlier comments regarding wedding performances, referring to a video where he had criticized singers who perform at such events.
Abhijeet responded, saying, “How much will you all scold me? To be honest, I refrained from singing at my own wedding due to the unfavorable atmosphere. In that moment, when I wasn’t singing, my father-in-law didn’t give me money for my suit tailoring.” He continued by saying that soulful songs are perfect for weddings and promised to sing at Manasi’s wedding along with a band. Abhijeet joked that besides him, Lalit, Vishal, and Shreya would also join him in the performance.
For those who missed it, a viral clip showed Abhijeet and Neha Kakkar having a heated argument. Abhijeet had criticized taking money to perform at weddings, calling it beneath dignity. Neha, however, disagreed, saying that no work should be considered big or small.
