India’s Got Latent Controversy: Samay Raina Summoned for Probe by Mumbai Police – Full Details

Samay Raina to Appear for Probe in ‘India’s Got Latent’ Controversy Next Month – Here’s Why

The controversy around India’s Got Latent is getting bigger every day, and those involved are being asked to give their statements. Stand-up comedian Samay Raina, who hosted the show, is now facing legal trouble after an FIR (First Information Report) was filed against him due to obscene remarks made on the show. However, since the controversy started, Samay has not yet recorded his statement because he is currently on a tour in the United States.

Samay Raina Gets Time Extension for Inquiry

According to Instant Bollywood, Mumbai Police has allowed Samay Raina some extra time to record his statement regarding the India’s Got Latent case. His lawyer requested an extension as Samay is still in the U.S. and is expected to return to Mumbai on March 17.

However, Mumbai Police has made it clear that they cannot wait too long. Reports suggest that Samay must report to the police within 14 days after the investigation begins. As per Hindustan Times, police have given him a deadline until March 10 to appear for questioning.

FIRs Filed Against Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia

So far, two FIRs have been registered against Samay Raina and fellow content creator Ranveer Allahbadia (popularly known as BeerBiceps). These cases have been filed in Assam and Mumbai.

According to PTI, a police officer revealed that the Khar Police in Mumbai have been unable to contact Ranveer Allahbadia because his phone has been switched off. Teams from both Mumbai and Assam Police even visited his house, but it was locked.

While reports suggested that Ranveer had gone missing, he later released an official statement, claiming that he and his team were fully cooperating with the authorities.

Ranveer Allahbadia Speaks Out About Death Threats

Ranveer Allahbadia also shared a shocking revelation—he has been receiving death threats, not just against him but also against his family.

“They want to kill me and hurt my family,” he said.

He further revealed that some people even entered his mother’s clinic, pretending to be patients, just to threaten her. Despite these threats, Ranveer insisted that he is not running away and said that he has full faith in India’s legal system.

Investigation Expands – 50+ People Summoned

The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has now summoned and recorded statements from at least 50 people in connection with the case.

Additionally, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has also called for statements from the show’s judges and producers, including:

  • Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps)
  • Samay Raina
  • Apoorva Mukhija
  • Ashish Chanchlani
  • Jaspreet Singh

With so many names involved, this case is turning into one of the biggest controversies in the Indian digital content space.

‘India’s Got Latent’ Episodes Removed from YouTube

Following the backlash and police investigation, all episodes of India’s Got Latent have been taken down from YouTube.

This step was likely taken to avoid further controversy and legal trouble for the creators

What Happens Next?

With Samay Raina set to return in March, the focus is now on whether he and Ranveer Allahbadia will face any further legal action. For now, both claim they are ready to cooperate, but only time will tell how this case unfolds.
