Indraneil Sengupta Responds to ‘Failed’ Marriage with Barkha Bisht Amid Cheating Allegations
Amid allegations of infidelity, actor Indraneil Sengupta has spoken about his marriage with ex-wife Barkha Bisht. He explained why he does not see their separation as a failure, despite everything that happened.
Indraneil’s Take on His Divorce
Barkha Bisht, known for her impressive acting, recently opened up about her personal life, including her past with Indraneil. She accused him of cheating during their 14-year marriage, which ended in 2022. However, before Barkha made these claims, Indraneil had already spoken about their “failed marriage” on a podcast. He mentioned that their divorce brought positive changes in his life.
During a conversation on Sanghmitra Hitaishi’s podcast, Indraneil shared that their separation led to significant personal growth. He acknowledged that some people might call his marriage a failure, but he believes it was successful for 13 years. He said they had many great moments, as well as some difficult ones.
Indraneil explained that he doesn’t agree with calling the marriage a “failure.” He pointed out that both he and Barkha changed over the years. “Sometimes, personalities change. We were different people from the beginning. Over time, we became more of ourselves. I don’t think anything has failed,” he said.
Barkha’s Side of the Story
For those who may not know, Barkha and Indraneil became parents to their daughter, Meira, in 2011. After their separation, 13-year-old Meira now lives with Barkha.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Barkha revealed that Indraneil is not actively involved in their daughter’s life. She admitted that accepting this reality was emotionally difficult for her. The Ramleela actress also mentioned that some people assume she is keeping Indraneil away from Meira, but she denied this claim.
Their Love Story
Barkha and Indraneil tied the knot in 2008. Their love story reportedly began on the sets of Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam, where they worked together. However, despite their strong bond in the past, their relationship eventually came to an end.
