Kartik Aaryan received a lot of praise for his role in the movie Chandu Champion. Right now, he’s representing the film at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) along with the director, Kabir Khan. They are joined by Karan Johar and other filmmakers. Recently, Kartik shared some pictures from the second day of his trip.
The photo series starts with a selfie of Kartik along with Imtiaz Ali, Kabir Khan, Shoojit Sircar, Mitu Bhowmick Lange, and Rima Das. Then, there’s a clip of Kartik and Kabir sitting with Karan Johar during a media event. After that, they prepared to celebrate India’s Independence Day abroad by pinning small Indian flags on their suits. Kartik also had fun taking pictures and promoting his movie.
In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, Kartik shared how the film’s story is similar to his own journey. He said, “A lot. I felt like this journey could be anyone’s journey. It’s about someone dreaming big and trying to achieve those dreams. It’s an underdog story, where if you have a dream and want to make it happen, it’s a Chandu Champion story.”
He added that everyone has a “Chandu Champion” inside them, saying that whether in sports or any profession, we all want to be the best. He expressed, “When I first heard the script, I was amazed. While filming, I often felt I could relate to the story. It’s like a small-town boy dreaming of becoming something in life.”
For those who don’t know, Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan, is a sports drama based on the life of India’s first Paralympics gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar. The film was released on June 14, 2024. Recently, Indian shooter Manu Bhaker praised Kartik for his performance in the movie after returning from the 2024 Paris Olympics.
