Ironheart Trailer: Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams Returns to the MCU After Wakanda Forever – WATCH
Dominique Thorne is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Riri Williams in the upcoming series Ironheart. The first trailer for the show has just been released, and fans are excited.
Thorne first appeared as Riri in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In that movie, her character built a powerful machine that could detect vibranium through any material. This made her a target, and Shuri and Okoye had to find her.
Now, in Ironheart, the story continues as Riri works on building her own iron suits in Chicago. According to the official description of the series, Riri is “a genius teenage inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.”
But don’t expect this series to tell Riri’s full backstory. In a past interview with The Wrap, Thorne explained that Wakanda Forever didn’t show Riri’s origin — it dropped viewers straight into the middle of her journey.
She said, “That moment in the movie pulls her out of the world she knew and into situations she’s never faced before.”
Thorne added, “But it’s her own drive and ambition that led her there — and now she has to deal with the results, just like everyone else involved.”
The trailer opens with Riri stuck in an elevator. As she presses the buttons, a voice warns her that in three minutes, there will be no air left to breathe. Shocked, Riri asks, “What is this?” The voice replies, “Your interview. You’ll die unless you destroy the device on the floor.”
The cast of Ironheart also includes Anthony Ramos, Manny Montana, Shea Couleé, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Lyric Ross.
The series will be available to stream on Disney+ starting June 24.
