Jaat vs Sikandar Box Office: Sunny Deol and Salman Khan Compete at the Movies
Two big action films, Sikandar and Jaat, are currently playing in theatres. While Salman Khan’s Sikandar released just before Eid on March 30, Sunny Deol’s Jaat hit the big screens more recently on April 10. Let’s look at how both films performed in their first four days at the Indian box office.
Jaat – 4 Days Box Office Collection in India
Jaat didn’t have much buzz before its release, but it still managed a solid start. On Thursday, its first day, it earned ₹9 crore. On Friday, the collection dropped to ₹6.75 crore since it was a regular working day. But things improved over the weekend — on Saturday, the film collected ₹9.5 crore. Sunday (Day 4) turned out to be the best day yet, with early estimates showing a collection close to ₹15 crore.
This brings Jaat’s total to about ₹40.25 crore in four days. While this may not seem like a huge number for a film of this scale, it’s still a decent figure. The movie is doing especially well in smaller cities and towns, thanks to good word-of-mouth and Sunny Deol’s popularity in those areas.
Sikandar – 4 Days Box Office Collection in India
Salman Khan’s Sikandar was a highly anticipated film, as it marked his first collaboration with director A.R. Murugadoss and actress Rashmika Mandanna. The film had a strong start, making ₹25 crore on its first day. It went up slightly to ₹27 crore on Day 2, thanks to the Eid holiday.
However, after the initial boost, the film saw a drop. It made ₹18.5 crore on Day 3 and dropped further to ₹9 crore on Day 4. These numbers could’ve been better if Day 3 or 4 had fallen on the weekend like Jaat. Still, Sikandar has earned more overall than Jaat in these four days.
