The buzz around Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer 2 is growing every day. While the team recently wrapped up a shooting schedule in Kerala, a big update is making headlines — Nandamuri Balakrishna is reportedly being paid a massive Rs 50 crores for a special role in the film!

NBK’s Cameo Comes with a Big Paycheck?

As per reports from Valai Pechu, Balakrishna, also known as NBK, has asked for a high fee for his extended cameo in Jailer 2. The production team is said to have agreed to his demand. The senior actor, who has been honored with the Padma Bhushan, has reportedly allotted 20 days for the shoot.

However, keep in mind that this information hasn’t been officially confirmed by the makers yet.

About Jailer 2

Jailer 2 is the sequel to the 2023 hit Jailer, which starred Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, a retired jailer who takes revenge on the criminals who wronged his son. The first film featured a star-studded cast including Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Vasanth Ravi, with special appearances by Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, and Jackie Shroff.

The sequel is expected to follow a new story set in the same world. It may also feature actors like Fahadh Faasil, SJ Suryah, and the return of Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal.

Recently, director Nelson Dilipkumar visited Mohanlal on the sets of Hridayapoorvam to narrate the new story. A behind-the-scenes video from that meeting has also been shared online.

What’s Next for Balakrishna and Rajinikanth?

Nandamuri Balakrishna was last seen in the blockbuster Daaku Maharaaj, directed by Bobby Kolli. The movie did well in cinemas and is now streaming on Netflix. Next, NBK will be seen in Akhanda 2: Thandavam, a sequel to his hit film Akhanda.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is all set to return to the big screen with Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which is scheduled to release on August 14, 2025.
