Cannes 2025: Janhvi Kapoor’s Bold Reply to Trolls Calling Her ‘Plastic’ Is Too Funny to Miss
Janhvi Kapoor is trending again, not just for her stunning looks at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, but also for the hilarious way she clapped back at online haters.
While Janhvi is loved by many, some people still criticize her appearance. A recent video from Day 2 of her Cannes trip showed her responding to these trolls in a funny and confident way.
In the clip, Janhvi is seen getting ready with her hair and makeup team. She’s wearing a red and white printed robe and having a quick snack in between. Looking into the camera, she says, “I look mesmerizing. I look breathtaking. I cannot wait to… eat.” Then, with a cheeky smile, she adds, “They are going to say it is plastic, but who cares?” This made everyone around her laugh.
This isn’t the first time Janhvi has joked about her looks. In 2022, she posted a funny video on Instagram where someone interrupted her filming. When asked to reshoot it, Janhvi said, “No, I can’t. I need to keep it natural,” and then joked, “Like my face,” making her team laugh even more. She even added a playful hand gesture and said, “Ghanta!”—a humorous Hindi slang.
Interestingly, her sister Khushi Kapoor also spoke openly earlier this year about having a nose job and lip fillers. In an interview with Curly Tales, she said it wasn’t a big deal, even though people often use the word “plastic” as an insult.
At Cannes, Janhvi is joined by her father Boney Kapoor, sister Khushi, and rumored boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya. Her film Homebound, co-starring Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, was screened on May 21. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, the movie received a 9-minute standing ovation from the audience.
