During a podcast with Rajat Dalal, Elvish made offensive comments about Chum and her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. His remarks sparked outrage, leading to the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) criticizing him and summoning him for questioning.

Amid the backlash, Bigg Boss 18 winner Karan Veer Mehra, who is rumored to be dating Chum Darang, shared his thoughts on the controversy. Recently, when paparazzi spotted Karan Veer in the city, they asked him about the case against Elvish. He simply said:
“Bohot bura hua, aisa nahi hona chahiye tha” (Very bad. It shouldn’t have happened).

APSCW Demands Action Against Elvish Yadav
The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) has condemned Elvish Yadav’s remarks and has urged the National Commission to take strict action against him. According to a report by The Economic Times, APSCW Chairperson Kenjum Pakam wrote a letter stating that Elvish’s words were not only disrespectful to Chum Darang but also to women across Northeast India.
What Did Elvish Yadav Say?
Elvish allegedly made disrespectful remarks about Chum while talking to Rajat Dalal, saying:
“Karan Veer must have had Covid for sure, because who can like Chum? Who can have such bad taste? Even Chum’s name sounds vulgar. What work has she even done in Gangubai Kathiawadi?”
Elvish Yadav’s Response
After facing huge backlash, Rajat Dalal later claimed in a video that the conversation was scripted and that Elvish was instructed to make those comments.
Elvish also responded in a video, saying:
“I said something about Chum. I don’t care whether I said it or not; I removed it. I don’t want any negativity. If anyone felt bad because of what I said, I have removed that part.”
