Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) has returned with its 16th season, which premiered last weekend on Sony TV. In the August 14 episode, Vaishnavi Bharti took the hot seat alongside the veteran actor and host, Amitabh Bachchan. She played skillfully and reached the 11th question but decided to quit the game when faced with the 12th question.
Vaishnavi performed very well and won Rs. 6.4 lakh. However, the 12th question proved to be challenging for her. Vaishnavi came to the show with the dream of building a house for her family, securing medical insurance for her father, and using the remaining money for her education.
The 12th question was about the Nagi and Nakti bird sanctuaries, which could have earned her Rs. 12.5 lakh. Unsure about the answer, Vaishnavi used her lifeline to make a video call to a friend. Unfortunately, her friend wasn’t confident about the answer either. Not wanting to take a risk, Vaishnavi chose to quit the game and took home Rs. 6.4 lakh.
Even though she had a strong feeling about one of the options, she didn’t want to take the chance. She shared, “Maine ye abhi haal filhaal mein hi dekha hai par abhi time par yaad nahi aa raha hai.” (I recently saw this, but I can’t recall it at the moment.) After quitting, Amitabh Bachchan asked her which option she would have chosen, and she correctly identified the right answer.
The 12th question was: “The Nagi and Nakti bird sanctuaries are the latest additions from India to which list, taking the total Indian entries up to 82?”
The options were:
- A: Ramsar Wetland sites
- B: UNESCO World Heritage sites
- C: Tiger Reserves
- D: IUCN Red List
The correct answer was: Ramsar Wetland sites.
The latest season of Kaun Banega Crorepati has been airing on weekdays on Sony Entertainment Television since August 12. The show not only gives contestants the chance to win cash prizes but also offers them a platform to share their personal stories and learn new things.
