Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, Famous for 12th Fail, Reveals He Never Celebrates Diwali; Amitabh Bachchan Responds
In tonight’s episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, actor Vikrant Massey and IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma will be the special guests. Also in the audience are Manoj Kumar Sharma’s mother, wife, and son. During the show, his mother shares that he never celebrates Diwali with his family. When Amitabh Bachchan asks the reason, Manoj Kumar Sharma explains his dedication to his work, and Big B shows deep respect for him.
In a promo released recently, Manoj’s mother tells Amitabh Bachchan that her son doesn’t celebrate Diwali or any other festival at home. Amitabh asks him why, and Manoj replies that being a police officer requires him to put aside personal beliefs like religion, caste, or language. His only focus is serving the nation.
He tells Big B, “A police officer cannot celebrate any festival. I have never celebrated Diwali. When you wear the uniform, you no longer belong to any religion, caste, or language. You have to dedicate your entire life to serving the country. There’s no fixed duty time; sometimes we don’t go home for days.”
Manoj continues, “Especially when everyone is celebrating, it’s our job as police officers to make sure everything remains safe and peaceful. We bring change to society.”
The audience claps, and Amitabh Bachchan folds his hands in respect, saying, “Not just in front of you, but I want to thank all the police officers who are watching today. A big thank you to all of you.”
For those who don’t know, 12th Fail, based on the book by Anurag Pathak, stars Vikrant Massey and Palak Lalwani. It tells the inspiring stories of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi.
