Shooting in Kashmir with His Own Clothes
Big B revealed that while shooting for Kabhi Kabhie, director Yash Chopra asked him to wear his own clothes. Recalling the incident, Amitabh said, “At the time, I was filming Deewar, which was full of action and fights. Just two days later, I had to fly to Kashmir for Kabhi Kabhie. Suddenly, I went from intense fight scenes to a romantic setting with flowers, mountains, and fresh air. It felt so strange!”
He continued, “I told Yash ji it felt unusual. He reassured me, saying everything would be fine. I casually asked about the costumes since nothing had been arranged yet. Yash ji simply said, ‘Whatever you have at home, just wear that. It will be perfect.’ So, all the clothes you see me wearing in Kabhi Kabhie are actually mine.”

This anecdote added another layer of charm to the movie’s legacy. Fans of Kabhi Kabhie will now see Amitabh’s wardrobe in the film with a new perspective, knowing they came straight from his own closet.
