Khichdi 3: Jamnadas Majethia Confirms the Third Part of the Comedy Series – Here’s When It Will Release
The Khichdi franchise has been a fan favorite ever since it started as a TV show in 2002. It became so popular that the team later made it into a movie, Khichdi: The Movie, in 2010. After two successful films, producer Jamnadas Majethia has now announced Khichdi 3. The movie is planned to release in 2027.
Jamnadas Majethia Makes the Big Reveal
The announcement was made when filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan invited the Khichdi cast for a special episode on her YouTube channel. The team talked about their journey, starting from the TV show to the movies. During the fun chat, Jamnadas made the exciting announcement about the third part.
While preparing the actual Indian dish ‘khichdi’ in the episode, Jamnadas said, “Humlog 2027 me ek aur Khichdi banaenge, Khichdi 3” (We’ll make Khichdi 3 in 2027). He also shared that 2027 will mark 25 years of the Khichdi franchise and his production house. So, they are planning to make a grand film to celebrate this milestone.
Plans to Re-Release the First Movie
Jamnadas, who plays the role of Himanshu Chandrakant Sheth in the series, also revealed they are planning to re-release Khichdi: The Movie on World Laughter Day, which falls on May 4, 2025.
The Journey of Khichdi on the Big Screen
In Khichdi: The Movie, we saw original TV cast members like Anang Desai, Rajeev Mehta, Supriya Pathak, Jamnadas Majethia, and Nimisha Vakharia. Actress Kirti Kulhari joined the cast as Parminder (Pammi) Kaur, and Farah Khan also made a guest appearance. Later, in 2023, Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan brought the same hilarious characters back to the big screen.
A Possible Crossover?
Back in 2023, director Aatish Kapadia (who directed Khichdi 2) shared that he had thought about a possible crossover between Khichdi and Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai. He said that while both families are different, combining them would be interesting. Fans would love to see this fun mix if it ever happens!
