Krrish 4 EXCLUSIVE: Sunaina Roshan Says She and Dad Rakesh Roshan Cried When Hrithik Was Announced as Director
Hrithik Roshan is all set to direct Krrish 4, the next part of his popular superhero series. While fans are excited, the biggest moment happened within his family. His sister Sunaina Roshan shared that it was an emotional day when she and their father Rakesh Roshan found out Hrithik would be directing the film.
“We Both Cried When We Found Out”
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sunaina said that she was surprised when her father told her he was coming over.
“Dad said he was coming down, and I thought something was wrong. But then he said, ‘I’m announcing Krrish,’ and I said, ‘Wow, that’s amazing.’ Then he added, ‘Your brother is directing it.’ He started crying, I started crying,” she recalled.
Sunaina said that it was a big moment to see Hrithik take over as director, especially because he had worked closely with their dad even when he was just an assistant director.
“He used to give scene suggestions to dad. I’m sure he’ll make a great director,” she added.
“I’ve Never Seen Dad Cry Like That”
Sunaina said she had no idea Hrithik was going to direct. It was a complete surprise. What made it even more emotional was seeing their father cry.
“I’ve never seen dad cry before. That’s when I also broke down. It was a proud and overwhelming moment. Duggu is finally taking the legacy forward.”
She called the film a family dream—something her father and Hrithik had always wanted to make together. The nickname “Duggu” shows how close they are as a family.
Krrish 4 Is a Special Project
Back in March 2025, Rakesh Roshan officially handed over the director’s role to Hrithik. At the time, Sunaina shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, calling Krrish a dream project of both her father and her brother.
Also, as per Pinkvilla, Priyanka Chopra is likely to return to the franchise and reunite with Hrithik for Krrish 4. The film is expected to start shooting in early 2026.
