Actor Nitin Chauhaan, known from MTV Splitsvilla 5 and Crime Patrol, tragically passed away on November 6 in his Mumbai apartment. He was 35 years old. Nitin was found by his wife after taking his own life, following a long struggle with depression.
According to reports, on the evening of November 6, Nitin’s wife and their 3-year-old daughter had gone to their apartment complex’s garden. When they returned, Nitin did not respond when they knocked on the door. After getting no response, his wife borrowed a spare key from a neighbor to enter the apartment. Inside, she found the door locked from the inside. Upon finally entering, she found Nitin and immediately tried to resuscitate him before rushing him to the hospital. Sadly, doctors could not revive him, and his body was sent for an autopsy.
The Dindoshi Police filed an accidental death report on November 7, confirming his death as suicide. Authorities mentioned that Nitin had been dealing with depression, largely due to a lack of work in the entertainment industry over the past few years. According to his wife, he had been struggling with depression for 3–4 years, worsened by financial and professional challenges. To support his family, Nitin had even started an ice cream business, which unfortunately didn’t succeed, adding further stress.
Nitin leaves behind his parents, a sister, his wife, and their young daughter. He was a familiar face on Indian television, appearing in shows like Crime Patrol, Zindagi Dot Com, and Supercops vs Supervillains. He gained popularity after winning the reality show Dadagiri 2.
