Munawar Faruqui Talks About His Private Wedding With Mehzabeen Coatwala
Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui surprised everyone when pictures from his private wedding with celebrity makeup artist Mehzabeen Coatwala went viral. Recently, he appeared on Sana Khan and Anas Saiyad’s podcast, where he shared why he chose to have a small wedding and also talked about dowry.
Munawar’s Views on Dowry and Grand Weddings
During the conversation, Munawar said he always advises people not to take dowry or spend too much on weddings. He mentioned that his small wedding upset a few people, but he stands by his decision.
He also revealed a fear that has grown in him since his wedding. “I feel scared now—what if someone casts an evil eye on us? I fear the evil eye more than death,” the Bigg Boss 17 winner shared. He also said that Mehzabeen has brought stability and happiness into his life.
Munawar’s Past Controversies
For those unaware, Munawar’s personal life made headlines when he was in the Bigg Boss 17 house. His past relationships with his ex-wife and girlfriend Nazila became a hot topic, especially after wildcard contestant Ayesha Khan exposed him.
Munawar and Mehzabeen got married in May 2024. Their family now includes his son Mikael, whom he shares with his ex-wife Jasmine, and Mehzabeen’s daughter from a previous relationship. The couple often shares special family moments on social media.
