Namish Taneja’s Father Passes Away During Ram Leela; Actor Says, ‘I Don’t Know How to Move Forward Without Him…’
Actor Namish Taneja is going through a very difficult time after losing his father, Vikram Taneja, on October 12. His father, who loved acting, suffered a heart attack while performing in a Ram Leela in Delhi. Namish, who was in Mumbai shooting for his show Mishri, received the heartbreaking news and immediately rushed to Delhi to be with his family.
This sudden loss has deeply affected Namish. Speaking about it, he shared, “This is the worst day of my life. I’ve lost not just my father, but a part of my heart and soul. Even though we know that death is a part of life, accepting it feels impossible. Right now, I’m numb. I don’t know how to go on without him. He was more than just my father; he was my best friend and my guide.”
Namish fondly remembered his dad’s love for acting. Although his father was a teacher, he had a passion for performing. Namish said, “Every year, he eagerly performed in Ram Leela in Delhi, often playing important roles like Khubhkaran or Dashrath. Watching him on stage always made me so proud. He loved Navratri and would count down the days until he could perform again.”
Sharing more about his father’s passing, Namish explained that his dad suffered a heart attack while on stage. He was rushed to the hospital but sadly had another heart attack and passed away.
“I was in Mumbai when I got the news, and my world fell apart. I rushed to Delhi, but now I feel so helpless. My heart is broken, and I’m shaking, but I know I have to stay strong for my mom and family. It’s going to be a tough journey ahead, and I don’t know how to handle this big loss,” Namish said.
Namish, who has acted in many shows, also shared how his father always supported him. His dad was the one who discovered his passion for dancing and encouraged him to follow his dreams. Namish said his dad was his “backbone” and always stood by him.

In his career, Namish has starred in shows like Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur, Main Maike Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo, Vidya, and many more. He is currently seen in Mishri opposite Megha Chakraborty.
