Balakrishna thanked the Government of India, his fans, his family, and everyone who has supported him throughout his journey. He also said he would continue working with more strength and dedication.

In his words:
“It is a blessing to serve the world of cinema and to walk on the path laid down by my legendary father, Shri Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao Garu. I accept this honor with humility and dedicate it to every dreamer who believes in hard work, values, and service to society.”
Earlier in January 2025, the government announced that Balakrishna would receive the Padma Bhushan. Other well-known names like actor Ajith Kumar and singer Arijit Singh were also honored with Padma Awards this year.
On the work front, Balakrishna was last seen in the action drama Daaku Maharaaj, directed by Bobby Kolli. The film follows the story of Sitaram, a former IES officer who becomes a hero for a village suffering under the rule of a powerful family.
The movie features a strong cast, including Pragya Jaiswal, Sachin Khedekar, Shraddha Srinath, Makarand Deshpande, and Urvashi Rautela. It released in theatres on January 12, 2025, did well at the box office despite mixed reviews, and is now available to stream on Netflix.
Right now, Balakrishna is busy filming Akhanda 2 with director Boyapati Srinu.
