EXCLUSIVE: Vasudha’s Nausheen Ali Sardar Shares How She Was Inspired by Baahubali’s Sivagami for Her Role as Chandrika
Nausheen Ali Sardar, who plays the role of Chandrika in the Zee TV show Vasudha, recently spoke with Pinkvilla about her character and how she was inspired by Sivagami from Baahubali.
Nausheen Ali Sardar, who is well-known for her role in Kkusum, is now impressing audiences with a very different role in the show Vasudha. In this show, she plays Chandrika Singh Chauhan, a powerful woman who is both respected and feared. Chandrika is a self-made businesswoman who follows her own strict rules in Udaipur. In a chat with Pinkvilla, Nausheen shared that she took inspiration from the character Sivagami, played by Ramya Krishnan in the movie Baahubali.
During the chat, when asked about what inspired her while playing Chandrika, Nausheen explained that she feels her character is quite similar to Sivagami from Baahubali. She said, “Chandrika is a very strong character. To be honest, she felt a bit like Sivagami from Baahubali. That character has inspired me. I’m not copying her, but the queen-like personality is what inspired me.”

Nausheen also added, “Chandrika’s character has many layers and is even more intense than Sivagami’s role. It’s not a simple role; it has many different aspects.”
When asked why she decided to join Vasudha, Nausheen said, “Whenever I take on a role, I make sure it’s an important one. Even if I take small roles, I want the story to focus on that character. I also consider other things like the budget and where the show is being filmed.”
Nausheen, who was also in the show Barsaatein Mausam Pyaar Ka, mentioned, “I don’t like shows that are filmed in Naigaon because it takes 3 to 4 hours to travel there, and then you still have to work a 12-hour shift. I prefer shows that are shot in Andheri or Goregaon. Everything matched perfectly for Vasudha, so I took the project.”
Talking about her popular show Kkusum, Nausheen shared that she feels blessed because people still come up to her and tell her how much they loved her in that show. She said, “These days, even some young fans say they grew up watching me. It makes me very happy, grateful, and blessed that people have shown me so much love since my days on Kkusum.”
Nausheen Ali Sardar’s new show Vasudha is about two women from very different backgrounds who meet, and their lives collide because of their different beliefs, personalities, and social backgrounds.
In contrast to Chandrika’s strong and strict character, the show introduces Priya Thakur as Vasudha, a kind and carefree young woman who doesn’t know much about city life. Vasudha’s efforts to impress Chandrika often get her into trouble, which makes the story interesting as the two characters interact.
Besides Priya Thakur and Nausheen Ali Sardar, Vasudha also stars Abhishek Sharma in the role of Devansh. Abhishek has appeared in other shows like Nimki Mukhiya, Nimki Vidhayak, and Imlie.
