In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, reality TV star Nikki Tamboli opened up about her relationship with Celebrity MasterChef winner Gaurav Khanna. Their frequent fights during the show caught a lot of attention, and now Nikki is sharing how things really were between them.

Nikki, who is known for her strong personality, admitted that she and Gaurav are not friends. She said, “Gaurav is a nice guy, but I wouldn’t call him a friend. I don’t let too many people into my personal space. I’d rather let in someone I don’t like than someone who acts like someone they’re not.”

She added, “I do respect him and learned a lot from him about life. But our bond was full of ups and downs.” Nikki admitted that most of their issues came from her side, explaining that she speaks up when something doesn’t feel right. “Only contestants know what really happens behind the scenes. Gaurav was called the ‘crybaby’ of the show,” she revealed.

Even though they aren’t close, Nikki said, “If he ever needs me, I’ll be there. That’s the kind of person I am. But just because we were on a show together doesn’t mean we’re friends.”

She mentioned that Gaurav once said in an interview that they were friends, but Nikki disagrees. “Friendship is something very special. You can help someone or stand by them, but that doesn’t make them your friend. Friends are few, and they’re people you trust deeply. If someone says we’re friends, they should first ask themselves if they’re being truthful. A friend doesn’t hurt you. You can joke with them, but not cause pain.”

When asked why she called Gaurav a “guy” and not a “man,” Nikki recalled a fight they had on Celebrity MasterChef. She said he tried to be dominating during that episode. “Many things happened off-camera that people didn’t see. I can’t be fake. I say what I feel,” she explained.
