Thailand is celebrating a proud moment as Opal Suchata Chuangsri made history by becoming the first Thai woman to win the Miss World crown. She won the 72nd Miss World title on May 31, and she is using her platform to raise awareness about breast cancer through her campaign called ‘Opal For Her’.

Opal’s dream was simple — to be someone people could look up to. With this wish in her heart, she brought the Miss World crown to Thailand for the very first time.
In her inspiring speech, she said,
“I always believe that no matter who you are or how old you are, there is always someone who looks up to you — it could be a child, an adult, or even your parents. The best way to lead is to lead with grace in your actions.”

At just 16 years old, Opal started ‘Opal For Her’, a campaign that spreads awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. She was inspired by her personal experience when she had a non-cancerous breast lump that needed surgery.
She shared,
“I believe that with the Miss World title, I can create a bigger impact and support more important causes.”
Her campaign was also a part of the Beauty with a Purpose segment at Miss World — one of the most important parts of the competition. For Opal, true success means not just living well, but making life better for the people around you.
🌍 Pageant Journey and Achievements
Before winning Miss World 2025:
- She was crowned Miss World Thailand on April 22, 2025
- She also represented Thailand at Miss Universe 2024, where she finished as the third runner-up
- There, she also won the Voice for Change – Silver award for her advocacy work
