Sudhanshu Pandey’s sudden exit from the popular TV show Anupamaa has become a big talking point in the entertainment world. Pandey, who played the role of Vanraj Shah, was a key character since the show began. Recently, Paras Kalnawat, who also left Anupamaa to join a reality show, shared his thoughts about Pandey’s departure in an interview.
In a chat with TellyChakkar, Paras Kalnawat spoke highly of Sudhanshu Pandey and the controversy surrounding his sudden exit. Paras said, “I wasn’t disappointed with his exit. He deserves much better. He’s a great person and actor, and I believe he deserves the best in life. I even talked to him about it through messages.”
Paras also mentioned that he had a strong bond with Sudhanshu on the set of Anupamaa. He added that he never had any issues with the production or direction team during his time on the show.
Reflecting on his own experiences, Paras said that he has learned to stay away from controversies that don’t directly involve him. He admitted that in the past, he didn’t have this level of control, which often led to unnecessary problems.
Paras faced his own controversy when he signed a contract for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 on a different channel. The producers of Anupamaa were not happy with this, and it led to his immediate exit from the show. Things escalated when the producer, Rajan Shahi, whom Paras saw as a father figure, made a public statement about his departure. Paras shared that he was upset about this announcement and also mentioned having had a disagreement with Anupamaa’s lead actress, Rupali Ganguly.
In one bold statement, Paras claimed that about 80% of the cast wanted to leave the show but felt they couldn’t. After he left, Sagar Parekh was brought in to play his character, Samar Shah. At first, viewers had a hard time accepting Sagar in the role, but eventually, the character was written out of the show.
As rumors of Sudhanshu Pandey’s exit grew, there were reports that Pankit Thakker, an actor from Dill Mill Gayye, might replace him. Some outlets even suggested that Thakker had taken part in mock shoots for the role. However, Pankit Thakker later clarified, “I won’t be joining the cast of Anupamaa. Appreciate your understanding!”
Sudhanshu Pandey’s exit marks the end of an important chapter for Anupamaa, leaving fans and fellow actors to reflect on his memorable time as Vanraj Shah.
