Parth Samthaan Opens Up About Comparison to Shivaji Satam in CID

CID EXCLUSIVE: Parth Samthaan Talks About Shooting With Shivaji Satam and Being Compared to the Original ACP Pradyuman

In a special chat with Pinkvilla, Parth Samthaan opened up about working with veteran actor Shivaji Satam, who is famously known for playing ACP Pradyuman in CID. Parth also spoke honestly about how it feels to be compared to such a legendary character.

Parth revealed that fans won’t have to wait long to see ACP Pradyuman and his character, ACP Ayushman, together on-screen. “Yes, I have shot a scene with him. It’s a big one, not just a small scene,” he said. “You’ll get to watch it this weekend, and I’m really excited because it’s a great scene.”

Talking about his experience shooting with Shivaji Satam, Parth said, “It was an amazing experience. He is such a kind and lovely person. When he found out that I’m also a Maharashtrian, we started speaking in Marathi. I felt like I was chatting with a friend in Pune. He’s so calm and easygoing.”

Parth also shared how much respect everyone on set has for Shivaji Satam. “He is like a father figure for the entire team. With his experience in theatre and on CID, he has given so much to the show. I felt like a son sitting next to him, listening to his stories and learning from him. We spent the whole day shooting together.”

When asked about fans comparing his new character to the original ACP Pradyuman, Parth responded thoughtfully. He said actors can’t control what the audience thinks, but they can stay true to their characters. “Even negative roles get love if they’re done well. If people strongly dislike or love your character, it means your performance is working.”

Parth explained that every character needs time to connect with the audience. He remembered facing similar comparisons when he played Anurag in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. “This isn’t new to me,” he added.

Talking about stepping into such a big role, Parth said, “CID has been running for 20 years. I’m not just replacing any actor—I’m stepping into the shoes of a legend. That’s a huge thing. I’ve always been a fan of Shivaji sir, and after working with him, I admire him even more.”

He ended by saying, “If the audience gives me just a little time, I’m sure they will start accepting and liking my character.”
