Parth Samthaan’s First Day on CID Sets with Dayanand Shetty & Aditya Srivastava

EXCLUSIVE: Parth Samthaan Talks About His First Day on CID, Working with Daya and Abhijeet, and What Makes the Show’s Set Special

Actor Parth Samthaan, who recently joined the iconic show CID as ACP Ayushman, opened up in an interview with Pinkvilla about his journey on the show, his first day on set, and what it’s like working with the show’s legendary actors — Dayanand Shetty (Daya) and Aditya Srivastava (Abhijeet).

Parth, who took over after Shivaji Satam (ACP Pradyuman) left the show, said that he never imagined himself being part of CID. He shared, “It felt different and a bit odd at first because I never thought I’d be doing a crime thriller like this. I’ve always done romantic comedies or emotional dramas. But now, I feel blessed to be part of such a cult show.”

He also mentioned that playing a cop is something most actors dream of, and he’s happy to finally get that chance. On his very first day, he shot scenes with Daya and Abhijeet. Parth respectfully calls them “sir” off-camera but uses their character names while filming.

Talking about the vibe on set, Parth said the CID set is one of the most relaxed and friendly places he has ever worked at. One thing that really surprised him was that all the actors use a common makeup room — a large hall with mirrors and a dining table in the middle. Unlike other sets where actors have their own vanity vans, here everyone stays together.

“This kind of unity is very rare on sets. It really impressed me and taught me the value of teamwork,” he said.

Parth also shared that off-screen, he looks up to Daya and Abhijeet as his mentors. He called himself their “student” and said he is learning a lot just by watching them work.

He also talked about how his mother reacted to seeing him as ACP Ayushman. “She watches every episode, though she finds the storyline a little confusing at times. Still, she enjoys watching me in this new avatar,” he smiled.

The second season of CID premiered on December 21, 2024, and fans have welcomed Parth’s new role with great excitement.
