Why Did Ragini Khanna Say She Had a ‘Total Disconnect’ from Govinda, Sunita Ahuja, and Her Family?
Actress Ragini Khanna recently opened up about how she lost touch with her maternal uncle Govinda, his wife Sunita Ahuja, and their family. In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla’s Hindi Rush, she recalled her childhood days at her maternal grandmother’s house and explained how her busy career led to this disconnect.
Ragini Khanna’s Childhood Memories with Govinda’s Family
Ragini, known for her roles in Sasural Genda Phool and Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi, shared that she spent a lot of time at her maternal grandmother’s house, which was also Govinda’s mother’s house.
She recalled, “We used to spend every evening at my nani’s house. I had to meet Sunita Maami (Sunita Ahuja) every evening as a child.”
How Ragini Lost Touch with Her Family
As Ragini got busy with her television career, she slowly drifted away from her family. She shared, “When I started my career, there was a total disconnect. We used to play in the building as kids, but once my career took off, we became strangers. I didn’t even have time to sleep.”
She added, “I couldn’t meet my cousins, talk to my mother often, or attend family weddings in Punjab. I even missed my friends’ weddings.”
Does Ragini Regret Choosing Career Over Personal Life?
Despite these sacrifices, Ragini has no regrets. She proudly said, “Not even one. I’m super proud of my career.”
She also revealed that before stepping into TV, she worked on 100 ad films and even did advertisements for Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Ragini’s TV Journey and Mental Health Awareness
The actress also discussed the impact of television on mental health and her experience with homeopathic therapy.
Ragini has worked in several fictional and non-fictional shows like Bhaskar Bharti, Dekh India Dekh, and more. However, it was her role as Suhana in Sasural Genda Phool that made her a household name.
