Rajan Shahi Explains Why Alisha Parveen, Pratiksha Honmukhe, and Shehzada Dhami Were Removed from His Shows
Rajan Shahi, the producer of hit shows Anupamaa and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has finally opened up about why certain actors were removed from his productions. His decision to fire Alisha Parveen from Anupamaa and Pratiksha Honmukhe and Shehzada Dhami from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai sparked plenty of controversy.
“Nobody Is Above the Show”
In a recent interview on The Ashoke Pandit Show podcast, Shahi addressed the rumors and explained his stance. He said, “Nobody is above the show,” emphasizing that he prioritizes discipline and professionalism on set. He added that the broadcasters have entrusted him with the freedom to make necessary decisions for the shows’ success.
Why Pratiksha and Shehzada Were Let Go
Talking about Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Shahi revealed that Pratiksha Honmukhe and Shehzada Dhami were removed after three months of work. While he didn’t go into too many details, he shared that their unprofessional behavior—specifically towards staff members like the hairdresser, spot boy, makeup artist, and associate director—led to their ouster.
He explained, “I have removed two lead actors of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The actress was groomed, but I don’t want to say much because a lot has already been said in the media.” After their exit, Rohit Purohit and Garvita Sadhwani were brought in to play their roles.
Alisha Parveen’s Sudden Exit from Anupamaa
Alisha Parveen joined Anupamaa in October 2024 as Rahi, aka Aadhya, after the show introduced a 15-year leap. However, just two months later, on December 20, news of her removal surfaced. Shahi confirmed the decision but chose not to disclose many details, saying, “I asked another actor to leave from Anupamaa. I want to preserve the actor’s respect and dignity.”
Alisha, on the other hand, shared that she was removed without prior notice.

The producer stressed that maintaining discipline on set is crucial, as the success of the show depends on the entire team working together harmoniously. While these decisions may seem harsh, Shahi believes they are necessary to protect the shows’ quality and reputation.
