Ranbir Kapoor Calls Salman Khan ‘Eternal Lover Boy; Salman’s Epic Reaction

THROWBACK: When Ranbir Kapoor Called Salman Khan the ‘Eternal Lover Boy’ and His Sarcastic Response Said It All

Let’s take a trip down memory lane to when Ranbir Kapoor admitted he took inspiration from Salman Khan for his role in Bachna Ae Haseeno. The moment happened during an episode of Dus Ka Dum, a show hosted by Salman Khan, where Ranbir appeared with his co-stars Minissha Lamba and Deepika Padukone to promote the film.

During the show, Salman asked Ranbir to share an interesting story from the making of Bachna Ae Haseeno. In response, Ranbir playfully called Salman the “eternal lover boy” of Indian cinema. He said, “When I read the script, I based my character on your on-screen and off-screen personality. You are the eternal lover boy of the Indian screen. Even the film’s director, Siddharth Anand, told me that ‘Salman Khan could play this role with his eyes closed.'”

Salman gave a sarcastic smile and said, “I understand everything.” This left everyone laughing. Ranbir then expressed his hope that Bachna Ae Haseeno would be a hit and loved by audiences. He joked, “I hope I also get a chance to host a show 20 years from now—maybe 5 Ka Dum, 2 Ka Dum, or 1 Ka Dum.” Salman, with his usual humor, replied, “Mukka Dum,” making the crowd laugh even more.

For those unfamiliar, Ranbir played Raj Sharma in Bachna Ae Haseeno, a carefree playboy who breaks hearts until he gets his own heart broken. After that, he sets out to make amends for his past mistakes. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie was released in 2008 and also starred Bipasha Basu and Kunal Kapoor in important roles.
