Exclusive: Indira Krishnan Shares Ranbir Kapoor Asked for Books for Raha and Talks About Whether She Visited the Ramayana Set
In a special chat with Pinkvilla, Indira Krishnan talked about her close bond with her Ramayana co-star Ranbir Kapoor. She also shared how Ranbir would often talk about his daughter, Raha, while they were filming.
Indira Krishnan on Working with Ranbir Kapoor
Indira Krishnan is currently acting in Durga alongside Pranali Rathod and Aashay Mishra. She is also in the spotlight for her role as Kaushalya in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. In her interview, she opened up about how Ranbir used to talk about his daughter Raha on set. The actress was also asked if Raha ever visited during the filming of Ramayana.
When asked about the difference in Ranbir’s behavior between the sets of Animal and Ramayana, Indira said Ranbir was just as amazing in real life as he is in his acting. “Ranbir is one of the best actors we have. Whether it’s his behavior or acting, he’s fantastic. In Animal, I played Rashmika’s mother, and I didn’t get much time to talk to Ranbir. On my last day of shooting, I told him, ‘I hope to play your mother someday.’ And after two years, it actually happened! When I came to the script reading for Ramayana, I didn’t know Ranbir was playing Ram. He even reminded me, ‘You said you’d meet me again, and now here we are.'”
Indira shared how much she enjoyed working with Ranbir. “He’s a brilliant actor who does his homework and is very focused, which is rare these days. He’s polished and grounded.”
She also said that they became close on set. “We talked a lot, and he treated me so well. He even asked me to bring books for his daughter Raha. Now, all of my son’s books are with her, and I’m happy I gave them to someone who appreciates them.”
Did Raha Visit the Ramayana Set?
Indira mentioned that Raha didn’t visit the set while she was there. She explained, “When I was on set, it was really hot, and we were filming outside in Film City during May. I didn’t see Raha then, but I hope to meet her someday soon.”
For those who don’t know, Indira Krishnan played Rashmika Mandanna’s mother in the film Animal. She’s also been in movies like Holiday and Chatur Singh Two Star. On television, she’s well-known for her roles in Krishnaben Khakhrawala, Yeh Hai Chahatein, Dhruv Tara – Samay Sadi Se Pare, and more.
